Make a Difference
Help Shape The Future of Car Care
The head honchos at Autoglym UK want to know more about the Aussie post-wash routine, so they can develop even better products (which means we can make our rides even cleaner).
How Do I Get Involved?
It’s simple, we’re asking you to film your post-wash routine and upload your videos.
What’s In It For Me?
You’ll make a difference to the future of Aussie car care products, plus, you’ll go into the draw to win.
Let’s Get Started
Thank you for agreeing to take part in our innovation research project.
This project focuses on your routines, habits and the products you use on your car’s paintwork after you’ve washed your car.
Step 1
Filming your post-wash routine

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION
We’re interested in understanding your experiences, perspectives and everyday practices.
For this project, we’d like to see video clips of the usual products you use on your car’s paintwork after you’ve washed it.
In your video we’d love to hear about your washing routine. How often do you wash, and what results do you want from your post-wash products (beading, shine, protection, easier cleaning, etc.)?
Also, what features do you prefer? For example, easy to wipe on & buff off, glide, covers a mark or scuff, resistance to detergents, value for money?
Let us know how you are feeling throughout your task – what’s working, what’s not, any frustrations or anxieties, as well as what enthuses or motivates you.
When you’re ready to start filming, take a look at the tips below.
HINTS & TIPS
1. Include a short clip that shows you taking your products and accessories from where you normally store them, and setting them up, ready to use.
2. Please film in landscape orientation. Make sure the lens is clean and watch out for fingers & thumbs over the lens!
3. Set up your camera so that we can see you, the products you are using, the processes you are following, and ideally your face too (if you’re comfortable with that).
4. Make sure light sources are behind the camera and in front of you as the subject, so we can clearly see you in the video and not your silhouette.
5. It may be easier if someone else films you or if you can prop up your phone/camera using a suitable tripod. Either will leave you with both hands free to complete the task.
6. Using an external mic, even if it’s just a clip-on one, is beneficial if you have access to one, particularly if you’re filming outside where there may be traffic noise in the background.
7. We’re not worried about you shooting in film or 4K quality, so 1080p or even 720p is fine. Basically, any recent(ish) smartphone will be suitable.
